Pre Operative Surgery Instructions
Zeidan Oral & Facial Surgery will provide care for you during your out-patient procedure. The following are important instructions that must be observed prior to your surgery appointment for you to have anesthesia.
LOCAL ANESTHESIA

Do not wear lipstick or excessive makeup on the day of surgery.

If you have asthma inhalers, please bring them with you.

If you develop an illness, please notify our office as soon as possible prior to your appointment.

Take your regular medications as prescribed unless otherwise instructed.

No smoking two days prior
IV SEDATION/IV GENERAL ANESTHESIA
Follow the instructions as above, and in addition:

An adult must be present, wait in the waiting room, drive you home, and stay with you for the first 24 hours of your recovery.

You may not drive yourself home, or use a taxi or ride share service alone.

Do not eat or drink anything for eight hours prior to your surgery, including water.

Take your regular medications as prescribed unless otherwise instructed with a small sip of water.

Contact lenses, jewelry and prosthetic appliances must be removed before surgery.

You cannot drive, operate machinery, return to work/school, for 24 hours after general anesthesia.

Do not wear nail polish or acrylic nails on the day of surgery.

You may bring a blanket with you

Please wear warm comfortable, loose fitting clothing with sleeves which can be rolled up past the elbow, and low-heeled shoes.
